Wednesday Night Bouldering - Truckee Sports Exchange

We are happy to announce that the third annual Tahoe Sports Hub Boulder Bash will take place September 24th in Truckee California. This all-levels bouldering competition and climbing festival features a bouldering competition on Donner Summit, free beginner climbing clinics on School Rock, an after party and awards ceremony at Donner Ski Ranch. All events are open to the public and the free after party will include food and drink specials, a live raffle, and live music.

We are offering a free beginner climbing clinic with the pros from NASTC from 1:00-3:00 on 9/24/16. All participants must pre-register at EVENTBRITE.

A portion of proceeds will go to our chosen non profit beneficiary, the local chapter of the American Alpine Club.

Saturday September 24th

Donner Ski Ranch

Day of registration – 7:00am – 8:00am

Contestant Meeting – 8:00am

Boulder Comp begins – 9:00am

NASTC free beginner climbing clinic – 1:00 am

Competition Ends – 4:00pm

Scorecards turned in by – 4:30pm

Awards Ceremony – 5:30pm

Live Music – 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Competition Rules

  1. Scoring will be based upon the climber’s ten hardest climbs of the day. Each climb must be written on the score sheet and initialed by another climber. Scoring is on the “honor system” but keep in mind we will have event judges roaming the climbing areas. Each number grade is worth 100pts, so a V5 would be worth 500pts.
  2. If a competitor scores two or more climbs in a higher scoring bracket, the climber will automatically be entered into the next level of competition. ie A climber that enters the beginners brackets scores 3 V7’s on his score card will be automatically entered into the advanced bracket.
  3. All score sheets must be returned to judges at Donner Ski Ranch by 5pm to avoid penalties or disqualification. There will be a 500 pt penalty if scorecard is returned between 5pm-5:30pm.
