Following the success of our annual Customer Appreciation Party last month and with a Miracle March well underway, we decided to throw a second party last Saturday! Everything in the store was 40% off (or more) and we enjoyed beer from Fifty Fifty, a fabulous raffle benefiting Sierra Avalanche Center (over $4,000 was donated from both parties!), delicious food from Morgan’s, and tunes from 101.5. While our Customer Appreciation Party in February was NUTS, we really enjoyed our Miracle March party as a chance to connect with our customers and increase the stoke.

Here are some photos from the event, shot by Laura Lawson Visconti. Thanks again to all our reps, sponsors, and most of all, our customers, for making our jobs so fun!

Join us: Snowsurf Meetup

Editor’s Note: Our first Snowsurf Meetup was so full of stoke that we’re hosting one again! Mark your calendars…

Tahoe Sports Hub is proud to partner with Moss Snowstick for a Snowsurf Meetup on Friday, March 16th at Boreal Mountain Resort, with a precursor special demo experience at the Hub the evening before, on Thursday, March 15th at 6:30 PM.

This is a rad FREE opportunity for riders to experience and learn more about the new progression in snowboard shapes and surf style boards from several key brands. Riders will meet up at Tahoe Sports Hub on Thursday, March 15th at 6:30 to choose boards they would like to demo and learn more about the shapes and the Snow Surf evolution. Riders will then be able to try out many different models and get experience and snow surfing tips at Boreal on Friday, March 16th. Riders should meet at Boreal at 8:30 AM, and are required to purchase $25 lift tickets to ride for the day. Registration is limited to just 12 participants.

This is the perfect event for any intermediate snowboarders who are looking to explore new ways of riding and want to surf the earth! Must be over 18 years old, and willing to have fun. We only have 12 spots available and registration is first come first serve.

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been busy chasing snow (and yes, working the jobs that allow you to chase said snow) and haven’t given much of a thought to Christmas shopping until… well… right about now. Luckily, we have a ton of really great gift ideas at Tahoe Sports Hub — everything from backcountry avi gear to a heated ski boot — and the knowledgeable staff to help you through your list. To get you started, here are a few ideas for that alpine lover in your life. Merry Christmas to you and yours from all of us at Tahoe Sports Hub!

For The Tech Junkie

We all have at least one of these in our life. If you’re looking for a heated ski boot for the snow bunny that already has all the gear, look no further. We also have a sweet goggle from Smith with a silent two-speed Elite turbo exhaust fan and numerous other bells and whistles. Other cool tech gift options includes heated socks and plenty of speaker and phone charging options. Stop by our shop — we’re open from 8 AM to 8 PM every day — to test this stuff in person!

For The Lady Shredder

We have many options for the rad powder-chasing babes in your life, including plenty of under layers and socks and sweet outwear… um, hello coral-colored Flyblow bibs that are definitely on our Christmas list! Other stocking-sized options include Arcade Belts and fresh Smith goggles in every color. Yewww!

For The Little Rippers

Okay, we’re going to try really hard not to over-use the word “cute” for this one, but seriously… how cute are these pieces? With a huge selection for both girls and boys, you can bet your boots your kiddos will appreciate their ski lessons with these pieces from Roxy and Helly Hansen. And can we talk about those Frozen skis?! Kind of want those in adult sizes.

For The Backcountry Enthusiast

Ah, our favorite category. You guessed it… all of these items are on our Christmas list! With technical gear and stocking stuffer ideas like NUUN and an All-Purpose Backcountry Repair Kit, this stuff is useful, well-made, well-priced, and is guaranteed to be used all winter long! Come say hello in the shop — we’d be happy to point you in the right direction.

For The Après Lover

Alongside our technical gear and huge selection of skis and boards, we also have plenty of cozy lifestyle wear for the après lover on your list (so, all of us). Does your significant other already have more beacons, shovels and trekking poles that he knows what to do with? Consider a tried-and-true Christmas favorite: a good old fashioned winter sweater or boots. We have those!

*PBR not included… unless you ask nicely.

Stocking Stuffers For Anyone On Your List

Who doesn’t love stocking stuffers?! Our entire shop is basically made up of perfect stocking stuffer options… here are a few items to get your inspired, including hats, Dakine socks, Klean Kanteen water bottles in every color, cell phone chargers and Voile straps. We’ll take one of each, please.

For The Hard To Please Teenager

Ahhh… shopping for teens during the holidays is not for the faint of heart! Luckily, we know plenty of rad teens so we’d like to think we know a thing or two about what they’re into these days. Stop by our shop and we’ll help you figure it all out (and while you’re at it, we’ll take one of those Dakine mud-red hats, please).

We’ll just own it: our staff rules. Thankfully, we know you agree. Whether it comes to the best boot fitters in the biz or pro advice on your first split board purchase, our staff knows what’s up… as you can bet they’re actually out in the powder using this stuff. Today, we’re sharing gear reviews for the winter season from three experts on our staff. Listen up — these guys have some wisdom to drop!

Be sure to stop by Tahoe Sports Hub and check out what’s new! We’re open every day from 8 AM-8 PM.

From Kenny Good:

From Jacques Fix:

From John Lauer:

We’ve been proudly serving the Truckee community for 4 years now. With a freshly revamped space (check it out if you haven’t already!), the best boot-fitters in the biz, and an expert and knowledgable staff… we are stoked to open our doors each and every day to serve you and your family’s outdoor sport needs. And with multiple Tahoe ski resorts already open, this comes with a fresh selection of seasonal rentals for you and your little groms!

Kids seasonal ski rentals this season start at $79 — according to many, the best rates in Tahoe. Seasonal rentals can be switched out throughout the season as kids grow or progress. We also offer a huge selection of backcountry, snowshoe, ski and snowboard rentals and demos. Demoing skis or snowboards is a great way to try before you buy, because cost of the demo can be applied to your ski or snowboard purchase. Check out our expansive selection of brand new gear, including the best selection of split boards and largest ski wall in the region. Our snowboard offerings range from freeride to freestyle, including retro surf shaped boards from Moss Snowstick North America.

We’re open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM (will be closed Thanksgiving). Whether you’re looking to for holiday gifts in the form of goggles or socks, need a boot-fitting, or want to try out a new pair of skis, we can’t wait to help you out soon! For more information, give us a call: (530) 582-4510

P.S. Not a ski bunny? Tahoe in the winter is for you, too!

It’s that time of year again! Between checking NOAA every five minutes, to staring longingly out the window in hopes of snowflakes, let’s just say we’re excited for ski season. Below is a list of local ski resort projected opening dates – as always, keep in mind these are subject to change per Mother Nature.

While you’re waiting for your favorite resort to open, stop by Tahoe Sports Hub for a boot fitting or to update your gear. We spent the fall giving our space a little refresh, and we can’t wait to show you what’s new!
