Hub Ride Guide - Part 1

We are excited to announce our new series, the Hub Ride Guide! This will be an ongoing project featuring different mountain bike trails in the greater North Tahoe area. We will be highlighting different styles of trails that will be suitable for many different riders and ability levels.

The first featured trail is the Donner Lake Rim Trail from the Castle Peak trailhead to Johnson Canyon. This 7 mile point to point ride is a classic traverse through the alpine with everything you could ask for on a mountain bike ride. It starts off with a quick fire road climb to the start of the singletrack, followed by flowy forest loam and short technical climbs. Halfway through the ride you can take a dip in Summit Lake. There are multiple creek crossings, wild flowers, granite slabs, abundant side hits, and high speed singletrack.

Pro Tip: Add some extra vert, a great view, and a steep descent to this ride by doing the Warren Lake Trail as an out and back.
